Another year of posts, comics and (hopefully useful) insights has come to an end! I enjoy every minute of writing this newsletter and I’m thankful for everyone who reads and shares it. I am especially thankful for all of the paid subscribers who make sure I can spend so much time on it!
Before we end 2025, I thought it would be fun to look back on the most popular posts of 2025 and also highlight my personal favorite! So let’s get started with our own countdown…
Top Breaking Point Posts Chart
#3: To Grow Faster, Think Smaller
This post arose out of a series of annual planning exercises, where I saw teams trying to swing for the fences to generate growth but consistently failing. I sat down with some growth leaders and learned more about what it takes to grow faster and the result was this post that grew fast on its own.
Whenever I work with companies on improving their product, the first step is to shift their mindset from adding features to removing cruft. After doing this for 20 years, I decided it was time to write it down! I’m glad it proved so popular.
And as for #1….
#1: Why Your Pitch Doesn’t Work
I spend a fair amount of time providing free pitch feedback. That includes fundraising pitches, sales pitches and pitches to potential new hires so it adds up to hundreds of pitches a year. After a while, a few common failure modes became clear and I wrote them up here! I also hosted a free, live class to get in depth and it was very popular as well and will do so again in the new year.
All of those posts were read by many, many more people than subscribe to the newsletter which means they got shared widely. I’m more than grateful to everyone who found it helpful and shared it with others.
And my personal favorite?
Rehearsing Meetings, mostly because it included one of my favorite all-time Breaking Point cartoons. At some point I might do a collection of the best comics as I really enjoy going back through them.
And there you go! One more year, a pile of posts and hopefully some help on your leadership journey.
I have some big plans for 2026 including some more free classes, some longer-form posts and a bunch of other things. Happy New Year!

I’m not Sean and I don’t need to shave. Does that make me wise? 😏
